About this trip
A day trip to Saona Island in Cotubanamá National Park, with time in the clear, shallow water off its beaches and a stop among the starfish.
The boats to Saona usually leave from Bayahíbe, about 1 to 1.5 hours by road from Bávaro, and the day runs 10 to 12 hours door to door. Most trips also stop at the Natural Pool on the way out or back, where you stand in clear, shallow water among the starfish.
On Saona the water on the sheltered side is warm and calm, which is why the best photos of the day tend to happen in it. Our photographer rides along for the whole day, and your gallery is ready the next day.
