About this trip
A visit to the squirrel-monkey sanctuary at Evolution Adventure Park, inland from the Bávaro resorts, where the monkeys come to you.
The sanctuary is part of Evolution Adventure Park, a privately run park between Higüey and Macao, about 30 to 50 minutes from the Bávaro hotels. Inside, small squirrel monkeys climb onto visitors' shoulders and heads to reach the food bowls, which makes for big, surprised smiles.
It all happens fast, and nobody has a free hand for a phone. Our photographer is there for every monkey that lands on you, and the photos are in your gallery the next day.
