Evolution Park

Evolution Adventure Park is a privately run adventure park inland from the Bávaro resorts, between Higüey and Macao. A visit is sold as a package with hotel pickup: guided buggy rides on red-dirt tracks, a cave linked to Taíno history, a swim in a cold freshwater cenote, a coffee and cocoa plantation stop, a farm, and a sanctuary where squirrel monkeys climb onto your shoulders. Expect about 4 hours in the park, or around 5 hours with transfers; the drive is roughly 30 to 50 minutes each way. It runs year-round, and rain only stops it when a storm makes it unsafe. Wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy and closed shoes. Buggy drivers must be 18 and hold a licence, children under 6 can't ride, and the buggies aren't for pregnant visitors or anyone with back or neck problems.
