About this trip
A half-day at Evolution Adventure Park, inland from the Bávaro resorts: buggy trails, a cave linked to Taíno history, a cold freshwater cenote and a squirrel-monkey sanctuary.
Evolution Adventure Park is a privately run park between Higüey and Macao, about 30 to 50 minutes from the Bávaro hotels. A visit mixes guided buggy rides on red-dirt tracks, a cave, a swim in a freshwater cenote, a coffee and cocoa plantation stop, a farm and a sanctuary where squirrel monkeys climb onto your shoulders. Wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy and closed shoes, and bring swimwear for the cenote.
Buggy drivers must be 18 with a licence, and children under 6 can't ride. Our photographer is with you in the park, so the splash, the cave and the monkeys are all in your gallery the next day.
