About this trip
A Saona Island day trip for groups and families: boat time on the way out, white sand and palm-lined beaches inside Cotubanamá National Park.
Saona is a 110 km² island off the southeast tip of the country, and the day trip is a long one: boats usually leave from Bayahíbe, about 1 to 1.5 hours from Bávaro, and you are back 10 to 12 hours after pickup. The classic day is a fast boat out and a slower ride back, with hours on the island's calm, sheltered beaches.
This is a day people spend together, and our photographer shoots it that way: families on the boat, couples in the water, friends on the sand, the whole group lined up under the palms. Everything is in your gallery the day after.
